A Painless Haul : Shayla x Colourpop Collection + Giveaway

Youtuber collaborations sometimes happen too close together and a lot of them I don’t even bother getting not because I don’t want to support them but because limited edition makeup is not my kinda thing unless I really like what was created, like in this case. I mean have you seen the packaging on the Shayla x Colourpop Collection, it was definitely enough to make me spend my monies.

This purchase had nothing to do with who created it or the price but purely packaging and the actual colours. As soon Makeupshayla showed this on her channel I basically started stalking the colour pop website until it went live. I know Colourpop quality and price point so I was all about it. So I bring you the Shayla x Colourpop in SouthAfrica!

So let’s just jump right into this Shayla x Colourpop Collection collaboration.

Colourpop No Filter concealer

Ok yes, this is not part of her collab, but since I was there I figured I might as well try it out. I have to say I really like this concealer, mostly because I really don’t HAVE to set it with powder. It does crease slightly during the day on my dry skin, but I can just pat that out with my finger and I’m good, and really don’t mind doing that, since it looks a whole lot better than when there are too many products under my eyes.

Shayla x Coloupop – The Eyeshadow Palette [Perception]

This packaging is beautiful! The next thing I am contemplating is the Smashbox collab with …and the Amrezy highlighter…I love rose gold, are you seeing a trend here yet lol.

The shades are stunning, it is the right mix of neutrals and some colour and the right colour too. The names are so adorable and the formula is stunning. How often does colour pop not do something well? I haven’t heard anything bad yet about this brand! And I agree Lippie stix, satin lips, matte lips, eyeshadows and highlighters are all the products I have tried thus far and no complaints here.

If you were thinking about trying something from this specific collab the things I tried I truly do love. I didn’t pick up any lip products because I don’t wear it often, but I doubt you would be disappointed if you got some.

The Highlighter

Now who out there doesn’t love a good glow? For me it’s the item that got me so heavily into makeup in the first place so thank you to the Mary Loumanizer by the Balm, I haven’t looked back since! The Shayla x Colourpop one is no different, it’s beautiful. The shade I have is “BOOMIN‘” I don’t know how it would do on fair skin tones, but I am medium olive and I love it! I cannot get enough.

This is a loose powder highlight so, proceed with caution. The way I applied it was with the Luxie highlighter brush, I find that the flimsiness of the brush is perfect because it is not depositing so much product that it looks like a stark line on your face and is a lot more diffused.

You definitely don’t have to wet your brush to make this highlighter blinding, but you do you boo! it’s only makeup! Besides I prefer a more natural glow most days. I would like to say congrats to Shayla for her collaboration and well done! It is just stunning.
