Review : Nivea Q10 Plus C Range

Skincare – what a topic right? I have to be honest, as someone who receives multiple subscription boxes and is an avid shopper, skincare get’s a bit tricky for me. I am over 30 so now skincare is becoming more important, especially because I am using more makeup. But anti-ageing stresses me out, seriously! I’ve recently been using the new Nivea Q10 range, I saw it in dischem a few months ago and obviously, I had to buy it, because why not.

My genetics

My dad is currently 67 but genuinely looks like he is in his mid 50’s, and my mom had that same kind of genetics. Many people tell me I don’t look my age which is a major compliment but I would like to keep it that way while maintaining a simple and affordable routine.

So here are a few thoughts on this range…

The packaging

The night cream –

This comes in a metal tube, not my favourite, its really hard to get all the product out, especially when it starts to run out.

The Day cream –

This is in a jar, I don’t mind it but sticking my fingers into creams is not very pleasant for a germophobe lol, but at least I am the only one using it, so its ok but I would have preferred a pump or plastic tube instead.

The eye cream –

This one has a roller ball, which I love because not only is the ball cooling, but it massages the product in at the same time and I don’t have to use my fingers. Personally, I feel like roller balls or massaging tools do a much better job than your fingers like it allows the product to deeply penetrate while stimulating the skin.

The product

Night Cream – I’ve been using this for about 3 months now which I believe is a fair amount of time, and this is how I feel…

It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves my skin feeling plump and hydrated. Do I see an amazing difference in my skins brightness? No. I know this is an anti ageing range but weirdly I haven’t had a lot of hormonal breakouts since I started using it. I also don’t notice a dramatic change in my pigmentation but it’s a bit hard to tell because I have a few freckles and I can’t tell the difference ha! ha! ha!

Day Cream – Again no amazing noticeable changes in pigmentation and as for wrinkles, I don’t have many, to begin with so I genuinely can’t say. Hydration factor is awesome and leaves my skin very plump. My makeup applies smoothly on top of it, and it’s Summer here so it’s very light and not very heavy on the skin either, I really like that, plus it smells like oranges and that seems to wake me up more in the morning, could be a placebo effect but citrus is my friend in the wee hours of the morning.

The Eye roller – I use this morning and night.

So at night, I use it at room temp like a mini massage, to relax my eyes right before bed, and then in the morning before my shower, I put it in the freezer. It stays in there for a max of 15 mins then it helps to de-puff my eyes. Again with the wrinkles, I can’t see a major difference but my dark circle are definitely starting to fade. It’s not a result you see in a week but over time I feel like it’s definitely working, even my husband noticed a difference.

Results

I like that it is so affordable and readily available. I don’t think these are creams that will help my dryness in the Winter months’ but it’s perfect for Summer.

  • Smells great
  • Absorbs quickly
  • Provides sufficient hydration

Of all 3 products I have to say I have seen the best result with the eye roller. I love this and will continue to purchase it for sure.

Let me know what your current favourite anti ageing products are so I can check them out, please keep in mind I have a Sephora mentality with a dollar store budget lol. I am all for spending on my skin care provided it has worked for 95% of people who tried it 😉

Have a BE YOU tiful day! You’re worth it!

  1. Thank you for your honest review. I agree that skincare is such a difficult area to navigate and it is such a trial & error game. I swear by Neostrata and have seen enormous improvements in my skin texture, pigmentation and breakouts since I started using it two years ago. It costs a bit more, but especially with skincare I feel it is better to invest in products that really, really work so that you get value for your money.

    1. Oooh I will check it out for sure, I don’t mind investing in my skincare but not on products like cleanser that does nothing! Thanks for the tip 😉
