Happy Monday.
Said me never, I wish I could find a genie and wish Monday away, but then the logic kicks in that tells me, Tuesday would become Monday. But on the pleasant side, thank goodness for makeup and Mascara Monday :). This week we are chatting about the lower lash. It’s like the outcast of the makeup family, isn’t it?
When you started your makeup journey, did having a separate mascara for the lower lashes even occur to you? It sure didn’t to me. That’s what inspired me to cover it in this weeks Mascara Monday. Any hoo, we have lower lash mascara these days. And quite honestly for me it’s one of those products that, I had to try to know that I love and need it.
This for me is a life saver. One I never thought I needed. So let’s get into this one.
Mascara Monday #1
I honestly bought it so I can get something free in a 3 for 2 sale, I think in April and I’ve been using it daily ever since. I can’t seem to put it down and I even leave it in my “make-up” bag. This is for the late mornings to ensure I have it with me.
Wand
It’s so cute, I really like the fact that it’s so skinny. For the first time I can wrap my lower lashes around the brush. I really dig it
Price
The price is always right when it’s wet n wild, this one retails for R79.95 at Clicks. And if you didn’t know wet n wild is exclusive to Clicks in South Africa. I really don’t mind spending the R79.00 a month (which is very unlikely). My mascara usually lasts around 2 – 6 months but the recommended time to use it, is 3 months.
Anyway and if we’re getting technical that’s R26.65 a per month! That’s cheaper than a single latte!
How does it wear?
Well it separates beautifully and I don’t have to have black smudges under my eye because the wand is so tiny. But there is transfer. So for me personally it lengthens my lashes which I love but that means that the lashes are now touching the skin. If you don’t want to be fixing that all day then perhaps wait for a waterproof version, or if you don’t have that long lash issue, you will love this.
I do use Carli Bybel’s tip though : add more powder there (kinda like baking) but I don’t do that on my entire under eye because I will look like a crusty mess. Only in line with my lashes and then over kill the setting spray. This seems to prevent a lot of transfer, not only with this mascara but all of them actually.
And finally would I recommend it, hell yeah, aside from the minimal transfer, but there are definitely ways around that.
