My first Allure Beauty Box : October 2017

Hello there!!! So a week of unboxings is a bit much I know and I’m sorry, but I had to try the Allure box. I mean the magazine is so well known for ‘Best of beauty’, I had to see what they think is the best.

So the box is $15.00 per month but I found a coupon online and got the first box for $10.00, and I received a free full-sized douche eyeshadow palette. I have to say thanks to all the sneak peaks I get to pick and choose which boxes I receive. So I skipped the November box and I requested the December one, a lot more higher-end products this month and I am so stoked. I can barely contain myself. I keep checking the website to see if it’s been dispatched yet.

Ok, that’s enough rambling, let’s open up this bad boy.

Pureology Hydrate Air Dry Cream – 1 oz Value $5.60

The only thing I’ve ever used from Pureology is the shampoo and conditioner, but that was about 5 years ago, when I assume they just launched here because I didn’t get a choice on the variant I wanted from the salon, and I only got it because I had done a Brazillian blow out and needed sulphate free. Again this was what was on offer at the time lol…My! how this country has grown lol.

So anyway it’s a mini size for me because I have ALOT of hair! No jokes, it’s huge. But I did manage to get 2 uses out of it. One for me and one for my daughter. On her hair, still curly but much thinner and more healthy obviously, it worked like a bomb. On mine, I can’t say my hair is in transition, back to curly, but it wasn’t terrible and it smells amazing!

Beauty For Real 24/7 Waterproof Eyeliner in Whiskey – FULL SIZE! Value $14

I like it. It’s a twist up pencil and is a bronze shade, so far so good. I haven’t checked longevity properly yet because the day I wore it, it rained so my face melted off. I am going to give it another go and will post an update if I remember. But it glides on smoothly, no tugging or grabbing my waterline and it was very pigmented and very easy to build up. I know I know we typically don’t want to be applying liner for hours, but I did it because some liners wipe the first layer off when you go to apply the second one. So I had to know if I could only line in one swipe or if many are possible.

Eau Thermale Avene A-Ocitive Antioxidant Defense Serum – 5 ml Value $7.30

I know that Avéne is available in South Africa, but I haven’t seen this serum, or perhaps I wasn’t looking for it lol. This is a really tiny sample so I don’t think I will see the benefits of using it if it is even possible to see any benefit from an Antioxidant Protection serum…What do you think?

According to the website is suited to all skin types and the description says :

“Advanced complex of time-released Vitamin C and E precursors, enhanced with a powerful antioxidant booster, neutralize free radicals caused by environmental and lifestyle stressors. Fast-absorbing serum protects and visibly plumps the skin to preserve a younger, brighter complexion.”

I have been using it, and one squirt is enough to cover my entire face and neck, just in case the cost is looking a bit scary to you. It does absorb very quickly into the skin and feels like a gel moisturizer. Like I said whether it works or not I don’t know if I will be able to see a visible result with this mini tube.

Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial – 20 ml Value $24

Korres for sure is not available here, or at least not that I am aware of. This tube for one has a foil seal, which is awesome, and the size feels like I can at least use it for an entire month. As far as how I like it goes, well I have been using it every night since I received it, I apply the Avéne serum first then this, and seal it all in with a facial oil. I can actually feel a difference compared to when I just use a night cream.

This definitely leaves my skin hydrated and feeling bouncy in the morning, I am really actually enjoying it. Would I purchase the full size? I really don’t know yet I will have to see once this one is used up if I am truly in love with it or not, but I think I could also just get the body shop drops of youth one to be honest.

Kat Von D Saint Perfume – 5 ml Value $6.50

If you read my Glossybox unboxing, you would know that I received this sinner perfume in that box. So I love perfume, and for everything to smell delicious! Smells are everything to me. I was very happy to receive both of them. I can tell you this one smells more feminine than the sinner one, is it something I would buy, that would be a No to both perfumes. These are not scents I gravitate towards, especially considering Paco Rabanne Lady Million and Olympea is in my top 10.

I will use them up and see maybe they grow on me but as of right now, it’s not something I am yearning for.

And a Bonus Item!

Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Foam Conditioner – 1.4 oz – Full Size $5.99

I saw volume and wanted to cry. I have thick voluminous hair, I really don’t NEED any volume. But I will give it a go and see if it makes a difference. First I need to learn to love my natural hair and get further into that journey before I add more height or thickness to my huge hair…I will try to document this process too for those of you who would like to go natural as well, and maybe the Pantene works, so if you have finer hair and are looking for an affordable volumizing mousse, this could be it?!

And that’s all folks for my November Unboxings…For the rest of the month, I will be back to my usual schedule of reviews and tips… I hope to see you here and please don’t forget to enter my giveaway for the winkly lux eyeshadow palette!

Good Luck!

Have a wonderful day Gorgeous! You’re worth it!
