Fab Fit Fun Winter 2018 + Giveaway

Hey Scarlet’s

Wow it’s been a while since I’ve posted and I don’t even know where to start except to say good bye to 2018. What a year! But I got my Fab Fit Fun box and I was so excited to unbox this one!

I was going to do a “hello 2019” post earlier but I just couldn’t seem to find the energy or even inspiration to do a post. I feel like I am getting out of my funk so I figured I would unbox the Fab Fit Fun Winter 2018 box. If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I posted an overview of the box, but here I will give you a better view of each item.

Fab Fit Fun Winter 2018

Fab Fit Fun Winter 2018

So full disclosure I have now cancelled this box, why? you asked. Well because the shipping is just ridiculous and as much as I really enjoy receiving this one, it is only worth it if you are based in a country they ship to, aka the US.

Let me break it down for you

I added the Kopari Coconut multitasking kit, which was on sale at the time when I added it to my cart (which meant it would ship with my FFF box). The total was $75.12 , of which $49.99 was for the subscription, $4.44 for tax, then $19.00 for the Kopari kit and $1.69 for tax. The total amount debited from my card was R1116.84. Not too horrible considering I added the set. But wait there’s more my aramex charges were R1006.72, so R2123.56 is definitely not worth it to me, on any level. Unless I was receiving La Mer and Hourglass products.

Let’s get into what I did receive in the Fab Fit Fun Winter 2018 box.

Oribe – Gold Lust Dry Shampoo

I will say I was sooooo excited to receive this a. Because aramex always catches the aerosol packages and then I have to ask them to remove and destroy it, so the fact that this got past them was very exciting. Then b. there is all the hype surrounding this product.

I will say in comparison to Dry shampoo’s at the drugstore like Batiste, there really is no visible residue, but for the price of $44.00 (FYI almost the price of the FFF box) it better work. Although like most hair products if you use it more than 2 days in a row, you will certainly feel the build up in your hair. There is no way around that sadly. The fragrance is so beautiful, I even use it before I blow dry my hair as some kind of hair fragrance and I never want it to finish. If you’re keen to give it a go, you can check it out here.

Spongellé – Body Contouring Buffer

I have actually received a spongellé before and I really do like it the fact that the body wash is already incorporated. Mostly because I am lazy. I have to say with the first one I received, which I think came from Allure, if I am not mistaken. Anyway this one I actually felt a difference in my skin, because one side of this particular sponge is a bit more abrasive, so it’s like really exfoliating.

So this one seems to be a bit more pricey than the normal sponges. This one costs $25.00, and if you would like to know more, just click here.

BLAQ – Hyaluronic Acid Eye Mask

I personally love eye masks, not because I feel like they make any difference with the wrinkling that is happening, but because it is so soothing and just wakes you up.

After I posted the image of my FFF on Instagram, BLAQ actually sent me a Dm to advise I should place it in the fridge, 10 min before I apply it. And what a difference that makes hey. If you have these or any eye masks and had a hectic night, putting them in the fridge while you shower is the best thing ever. The puffiness is gone in the blink of an eye. These can be purchased here.

Morrocan Gold Series Treatment Mask

You know the reason I love subscription boxes is to discover new things. And this for me was a definite hidden gem. I had never heard of this brand before, and I was a little skeptical because my go to all time favorite hair mask is the Kerastase mask, and in 2nd place is the Joico reconstructor,

Then I did a little research and found that it is actually not cheap hey! This is $49 for 250ml. Plus my hair is short now so it is going to last me at least 3 months, if I share with my daughter.

This hair mask makes my hair so soft I can’t even tell when to stop rinsing. And then once I blow dry my hair it is so bouncy and full of life. I hope I can find this here is SA after this because I truly think it’s going to make the holy grail list for me this year.

Thrive causemetics – Brilliant Eye Brightener

All I can tell you about this is that it costs $24.00 lol. I haven’t used this yet, and I am not going to. I would like to include it in a giveaway so no swatches or anything. Sorry :), oh and the shade is ‘Stella’ 🙂

PÜR Cosmetics Be Your Selfie Palette

This one is $36 on the Fab Fit Fun website, but I can’t seem to find it on PUR’s site, so I’m not sure if it was an exclusive type of scenario. I also haven’t opened or swatched this as yet and based on what I’ve seen on the Fab Fit Fun website, I this I have other palettes with this shade range, so I have decided to include it here as a giveaway. Check below how to enter 🙂

Mark & Graham Colorblock Throw

The background texture in all of the above pics is the throw. This one is priced at $49.00, which to me is very very expensive for a throw. But it’s pretty and I’m not complaining, especially because the box cost me R2000.

WAY OF WILL Elevate Essential Oil Set: Sweet Orange Oil & Eucalyptus Oil

I personally only have tea tree oil, but that’s for my occasional break outs. And then I have some burner oils, that I use for it’s fragrance. I will however say I didn’t think I would like sweet orange oil as much as I do. I typically buy ones like Ylang Ylang, that’s my favorite. Is that even an essential oil? I really am not sure lol.

Anywhoo I did a bit of research and I think I will use these for some DIY’s like shower bombs. And with winter coming up and the kids stuffy noses, I think that would be a nice addition to our shower routines.

AHAVA Hydration Cream Mask

This mask is obviously a cream mask. It feels a lot like a lotion and that’s how I used it for a few days. But then I think I had a reaction to it, but I am not sure. It gave me those little bumps on my skin. So I stopped using it now for the past 2 weeks and the “rash” seems to have cleared up. So I will try again and see if I have the same reaction, whatever happens I will post an update here for you guys just in case you were curious about it.

Sadly because the bumps appreared after only 3 uses, I don’t know how I feel about it. So I know that it is definitely very moisturizing, and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple, but if it causes these little break outs then I won’t be using it again.

    2. Thanks I’m happy you finding some useful info… Tea tree I alsways use as a spot treatment because I don’t exactly have a huge breakout situation its more like one or 2 pimples 🙂 but I guess if you have a lot of pimples you could try checking youtube for a DIY toner perhaps…It will probably include things like witch hazel and distilled water, sadly I won’t know the ratio’s sorry 🙁
