Allure Beauty Box : Unboxed – November 2017

What’s up, everyone? Welcome back… Sooo… I signed up to Allure in October because I saw the sneak peeks, then I sent them an email requesting to cancel the November one, because I wasn’t interested in those particular samples. Then my bank or Allure surprized me and double debited me in December and when I requested a reversal from Allure, they advised I would receive 2 boxes. It’s not what I wanted but the effort of reversing R150 was just too much!

Let’s dive in

Allure November 2017

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

I’ve never actually heard of this oil or brand for that matter, so I was excited to give another cleansing oil a whirl. This retails for $28 [R357.95] for the full size and you can find it on Amazon. I tried it out yesterday for the first time and I have to say I am not very impressed just yet. Perhaps I need to give it a fair shot and do a full review, but to get this out of the bottle is a struggle for one. Then it’s not quite as slippery on the skin as the Clinique take the day off [R310] or even The Body Shop chamomile cleansing oil [R210], which by the way is a lot less expensive too. I will do an update but I’m not impressed thus far.

Wander Beauty Lipstick

According to the Sephora’s website, this is supposed to be dual ended, I for whatever reason can’t seem to open the other end. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, I dunno. But in any case, it is so cute. I am putting this into my makeup bag for sure! I haven’t done a wear test as yet but it gets a 4.6 on the ratings, so I am very keen to see why… This retails for $30 [R383.52] on Sephora.com.

Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow

To be honest, over the past few months I’ve received so many doucce products in my subscriptions, especially from Glossy box and Allure. It feels like I almost have all the eyeshadow shades of this brand LOL, just kidding but the quality really isn’t that bad and retails for $10 [R127.84] each on their website and the pro palette retails for $65 [R830.97] with 12 shadows in the palette. This was kinda meh for me, I don’t like getting single shadows and this brand is being sent out too much now, I would have prefered to get a brand I don’t have in my collection.

Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate

This brand is one of those you always hear about on the internet, especially youtube. So when I saw this I was no longer sad about receiving this unexpected box lol. I don’t know about the long-term effects yet, of course, but this feels like vaseline when you dip your finger in, it is very thick. At first, it had me a bit worried, I mean I have dry under eyes but I wasn’t sure about applying thick vaseline there. For the first use, I have to say I am quite impressed!

You have to warm it between your fingers, then pat gently, once the product is warm I gently massaged it, it was still feeling like vaseline but when it absorbed, my under eye area never felt so moisturized and plump. I could still feel the moisture even when I woke up this morning. The sad thing now is I like it and it retails for $78.00 for 15ml [R997.16] excluding my shipping to SA. I hope I can find something like this here. If you know of any please let me know

Estée Lauder – Sumptuous Infinite Mascara

Mascara is mascara to me unless we are talking too faced better than sex mascara. But with this one, it reminds me of the Benefit They’re real mascara, they both have the same kind of applicator (to me). The thing is though when this box came I already had mascara on (Tarte lights camera lashes) I added this because I am that girl that needs to use everything right now, and it was terrible, my lashes clumped together and didn’t look pretty at all. So I need to try it on its own to make a better call on whether I like it or not.

Moda Pro – Mythical Crease Brush

Oooooh, I can not tell you enough times how much I love receiving makeup brushes! Wash day can sometimes make it very difficult, so having extra’s is always a plus. My thing is though I have a bit of OCD so when I get one random brush especially when it looks like this (specific design), it can drive me insane. I like things to match and be in sets. At this point in time, I am burning inside to purchase the whole set, so I can display them on my makeup desk, but for now, this one lone star will be living in my makeup bag.

It’s a giant blending crease brush, it is so soft and fluffy. This is a brush I would use to apply powder or a skin tone shadow to the entire lid, to set my eyeshadow primer. And also to buff in a crease shade, and to blend the crease too. I think I am going to enjoy the size of this brush because it would be great for diffusing colour.

Also, I asked on Instagram if you guys would be interested in winning a 3 piece Moda pro brush set. If you are please leave me a comment here just in case you don’t follow me on social media.

Please don’t forget to subscribe to my blog for more and let me know about the giveaway? Or what would be your prefered items to win?

Lots of Love beauties…Have a wonderful day! You’re worth it!
